Music Therapy Fees & Pricing

All fees are clearly outlined below for NDIS participants, aged care recipients, and private clients. There are no hidden charges - what you see is what you are billed.

NDIS Fees

Session fees are aligned with the current NDIS Price Guide for therapeutic supports.

Individual sessions: $156.16 per hour. Travel: Billed in line with NDIS guidelines, capped at 30 minutes per session. Non-face-to-face time (preparation and documentation): 15 minutes of the hourly rate. Reports (initial assessment and progress reports): Capped at 2.5 hours per report.

I work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. I am not a registered NDIS provider and am therefore unable to work with agency-managed participants.

Music therapy is typically funded under Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living in an NDIS plan. For more information on how NDIS funding can be used for music therapy, visit the NDIS & Music Therapy page.

Support at Home & Aged Care Fees

If you or a family member receives support through the Support at Home program, music therapy may be accessed as a fully funded Clinical Support service - with no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Why is music therapy fully funded? Under the Support at Home program, services are divided into three categories. Music therapy, as an allied health service delivered by a Registered Music Therapist, sits within the Clinical Supports category. The Australian Government funds Clinical Supports in full - participants do not pay a co-contribution, regardless of their income or assets.

What does this mean for pricing? From 1 July 2026, the Australian Government will introduce regulated price caps for all Support at Home services, set with advice from the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA). These caps are all-inclusive — covering session time, travel, planning, documentation, and administration. There are no add-on fees.

The specific price cap for allied health services under Support at Home has not yet been publicly released by the government. Once confirmed, I will publish the rate here. In the meantime, please contact me to discuss current pricing for aged care clients.

What is included in the session fee? Under Support at Home pricing, a single all-inclusive rate covers:

  • The 60-minute music therapy session

  • Travel to your home or aged care facility

  • Session planning and preparation

  • Clinical documentation and care plan updates

  • Coordination with your care manager or provider team

No care management add-ons Unlike the previous Home Care Package model, Support at Home does not allow providers to add separate care management or administration fees on top of the service rate. The price you see is the total cost - and for Clinical Supports, that cost is paid entirely by the government.

For more information about Support at Home funding and how to access music therapy, visit the Aged Care & Support at Home page.

Private Fees

Private music therapy is available for clients who are not funded through NDIS or Support at Home, or who prefer to arrange sessions independently.

Individual sessions: $156.16 per hour. Travel: Travel fees may apply for home visits. Please discuss with me before booking.

Private fees are the same base rate as NDIS sessions. Invoices are issued after each session.

Cancellation Policy

I understand that health circumstances can change, particularly for older adults and people living with disability. I ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.

  • More than 24 hours notice: No charge

  • Less than 24 hours notice or no show: Full session fee applies

For aged care clients, cancellations due to hospitalisation or acute health changes will be handled with flexibility and compassion. Please contact me as soon as possible and we will work something out.
