What is music therapy?
Music therapy is a registered allied health profession where a trained music therapist uses music to support wellbeing across emotional, cognitive, physical, and social domains. It is evidence-based, goal-oriented, and person-centred.

Do I need any musical skills to benefit from music therapy?
Not at all. No musical ability is required. Music therapy is about using music as a tool for connection, expression, and support - not about performance or talent.

Is music therapy covered by the NDIS?
Yes. Music therapy is funded under the Capacity Building Improved Daily Living category of the NDIS. We work with both self-managed and plan-managed participants, and can provide reports for plan reviews.

What happens in a typical music therapy session?
Sessions are tailored to the individuals goals and may include listening to music, singing, instrument play, movement to music, songwriting, music technology, or guided relaxation. Each session is creative, flexible, and responsive to the clients needs.

Who can benefit from music therapy?
We support people of all ages including infants and young children in early intervention, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Music therapy can benefit individuals with disability, autism, dementia, stroke or brain injury, and mental health challenges. It can help support communication, motor skills, cognitive function & memory, emotional regulation, and social skills.
