About Me

Hi there, I’m Barak Dar-El — a Registered Music Therapist and the Founder and Director of Resonance Music Therapy.

I hold a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Australian Institute of Music and a Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne, along with additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT).

I established Resonance Music Therapy to support, empower, and enrich people’s lives through a creative and enjoyable medium. My goal is to help individuals achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life through music.

My experience includes teaching guitar and delivering music therapy across a range of settings — including early intervention, developmental delays, autism, physical and intellectual disabilities, neurorehabilitation, and aged care. I’ve worked with older adults living with dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions, as well as children and adults receiving NDIS support.

When I’m not working as a music therapist, you’ll find me hiking, playing soccer, snowboarding — or doing just about anything outdoors.

Whether you're an NDIS participant or not, I take the time to understand your goals and needs, and will create a personalised music therapy plan that’s meaningful, effective, and aligned with what matters most to you.

If you’d like to learn more, feel free to get in touch.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
